We are working with a local school that supports pupils with mixed needs who are looking for a teacher who can support in classes where needed. The position is ad hoc and is to cover classes as and when the regular teacher is not available within their classroom.

About the school:

The school supports pupils between the ages of 3-19 and follows a more vocational curriculum than is followed by a mainstream school. Within the school there is purpose-built learning spaces which are specifically designed to aid the pupils needs. The class allocation is based on pupil needs instead of age groups in the school so therefore you need to be comfortable working across all age groups.

 

The Ideal SEN Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with extensive experience with pupils with SEN. Though, the school are happy to support you in your induction to special educational needs.
  • Valid DBS certificate and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • A pro-active approach to Education and a willingness to get involved with the wider staff team.
  • A commitment to supporting SEN pupils in achieving their optimal potential.
  • An understanding of how to adapt lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils
