Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ADHD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-respected mainstream secondary school in Tameside. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ADHD, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing personalised education plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Employ strategies to manage and support students' behaviour and attention.
  • Support students in developing organisational and study skills.
  • Assist with classroom activities, homework, and other assignments.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage fully in their learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with ADHD or similar special educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or support work (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Understanding of current strategies and best practices for supporting students with ADHD.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo DBS check.
