About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly organized and reliable Admin Assistant with a valid First Aid qualification to join the team at a well-regarded secondary school in Glossop. This is a multifaceted role where you will be an integral part of the school’s administrative team, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities while also being the first point of contact for first aid incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school office, including handling telephone calls, emails, and correspondence, managing student records, and assisting with the preparation of school documents.
  • First Aid: Respond promptly to any first aid incidents involving students or staff, providing care and support as needed. Maintain accurate records of all first aid incidents and ensure that first aid supplies are well-stocked and accessible.
  • Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for parents, students, and staff, handling inquiries with professionalism and sensitivity. Assist in the coordination of parent-teacher meetings, school events, and other activities.
  • Attendance Monitoring: Help track and monitor student attendance, follow up on absences, and ensure accurate reporting to relevant authorities.
  • Support for School Management: Assist with the implementation of school policies and procedures, and support the senior leadership team in maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a school administrative role is highly desirable. Strong familiarity with school management software (e.g., SIMS) is an advantage.
  • First Aid Qualification: Must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and have experience providing first aid in a school or similar setting.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Personal Attributes: A proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A calm and empathetic approach, particularly in first aid situations.
