About the School:

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Animal Care teacher for an therapeutic specialist  provision for boys and girls primarily with social, emotional and mental health needs aged between 5 and 19. All the students at the school have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It was established in 2007 and aims to place an equal emphasis on the educational, social and psychological development of our students. The key to the success of the school is a strong ethos, developed by a highly experienced and capable staff, and the strength of the relationships between the staff and the learners.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Animal Care Lessons
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies
  • Provide support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment
  • Working with but not limited to; Horses, Donkeys, Sheep, Lamas and Chickens

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Animal Care Lessons
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team Teach certification (preferred but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
