Position: Art and Design Teacher
Location: Stockport Secondary School
Start Date: January 2025

A vibrant secondary school in Stockport is searching for an Art and Design Teacher to inspire creativity and self-expression among students. This role involves teaching a comprehensive art curriculum to KS3 and KS4, fostering artistic exploration, and preparing students for their GCSE exams. It’s an exciting opportunity for an educator passionate about the arts to make a lasting impact in a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging art and design lessons that encompass a range of artistic mediums, techniques, and historical contexts.
  • Foster Creativity: Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop their individual artistic styles while providing technical instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other media.
  • Portfolio and Exam Preparation: Guide students in building strong portfolios, offering constructive feedback and preparing them for GCSE or equivalent examinations.
  • Showcasing Student Work: Coordinate exhibitions and displays of student artwork around the school to celebrate students' achievements and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Collaborative Teaching: Work with the art department and participate in departmental planning, sharing resources, and developing cross-curricular projects.

About You:
We’re looking for a qualified Art and Design Teacher with QTS and experience teaching at the secondary level. The ideal candidate should have excellent classroom management skills, a deep passion for the arts, and the ability to inspire creativity in young minds.
