Starting in September

We are looking for a motivated candidate to work in a school in Bridgend that supports pupils who are 7-19 years old with ASD and Behavioural needs. The role is for someone who is motivated and happy to support pupils in and out of the classroom to achieve personal and academic targets. We have roles from 1-5 days, and you will be working though different age groups, so it is essential you are comfortable.

Although not necessary; candidates with care or educational experience will excel in the role and will be able to use preexisting skills and knowledge to get a head start in the position. We also find that a personal understanding of Additional Needs with experience whether family or friends also a great starting point!

Responsibilities

Ensuring pupils are engaging in all sessions.

To plan and implement appropriate techniques to deal with challenging behaviour in pupils where appropriate.

To take part in relevant training and courses as required.

Requirements and qualifications

Enhanced DBS and registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)

Understands the development needs of children and those with disability/challenging behaviour

Has 2 referees which are able to provide a standard reference
