Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Autism?

Do you have experience and knowledge needed to provide specialized support and guidance on a one-to-one basis outside of mainstream schools?

This ASD tutor role is ideal if you are a newly qualified teacher, teaching assistant, SEN one-to-one or have any experience working with children looking for flexible work across the West Northamptonshire area.

Working hours are flexible between Monday-Friday, and within school hours.

This role involves-

  • Planning and delivering personalised tutoring lessons /sensory sessions tailored to the specific needs and learning styles of individuals on the autism spectrum.
  • Working with children with ASD and providing face to face support within their home as well as across the local community.
  • Managing challenging behaviour by implementing behavioural interventions and strategies.
  • Planning resources around the child’s needs, this could be developing their knowledge in Maths and English or learning through play.
  • Collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to support.

What we are looking for in an ASD Tutor-

  • SEN experience (as teaching assistant, one-to-one or any other)
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, nurturing, and sensory sessions.
  • Applying skills to raise pupils’ confidence and learning.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, including an understanding of sensory processing, communication, and social interaction challenges.
  • Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
