  • Curriculum Development: Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a robust and engaging maths curriculum that meets the needs of all students and aligns with national standards.
  • Teaching and Learning: Provide inspirational teaching, delivering high-quality maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and supporting Key Stage 5 where necessary.
  • Leadership and Management: Support the Maths Curriculum Lead in overseeing the maths department, mentoring and supporting teachers to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Assessment and Progress: Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to address areas of improvement and celebrating successes.
  • Professional Development: Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay abreast of educational best practices and mathematical advancements.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with senior leadership, other curriculum leads, and support staff to foster a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Essential:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • A degree in a maths-related field.
    • Proven experience in teaching maths at the secondary level.
    • Demonstrable experience in curriculum development and leadership.
    • Strong understanding of current educational trends and methodologies in maths education.
  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
    • Additional qualifications or training in educational leadership or curriculum development.
    • Experience in integrating technology into the maths curriculum.
