A highly reputable independent SEN school in Windsor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Headteacher to join their permanent staff starting from September 2024. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management for the primary section, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective SEN strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Support the Headteacher in the overall leadership and management of the school.
  • Lead and manage a dedicated team of teachers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with national standards and best practices in SEN education.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student well-being and progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven track record of successful teaching and leadership experience in a primary school setting.
  • Significant experience in special educational needs (SEN), with a deep understanding of SEN strategies and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for working with students with diverse needs.
  • A thorough understanding of the national curriculum and relevant SEN legislation and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective improvement plans and manage change effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience in an independent school setting.
  • Additional qualifications or training in SEN.
  • A postgraduate qualification in education or leadership.
