ASSISTANT SENCO NEEDED ASAP

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our Mainstream Secondary schools in Bourne End. This is a key leadership role, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the provision for students with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring the needs of students with SEMH are met effectively.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans for individual students in collaboration with teaching staff and external professionals.
  • Oversee EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans) processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN best practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each student.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified SENCO with experience working in a Mainstream, SEMH or SEN setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive academically and personally.
