About the Role:

As an Attendance Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students to improve their attendance and engagement in school. You will work closely with students, parents, and school staff to identify barriers to attendance and develop strategies to overcome them. Your efforts will contribute significantly to the academic and personal development of the students you mentor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance.
  • Identify and address issues affecting attendance.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to students.
  • Promote the importance of regular school attendance.
  • Report on progress and outcomes to school leadership and Teaching Personnel.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, mentoring, or related fields is desirable.
