About the Role: As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide essential support to students with autism, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students with autism
  • Assisting in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Helping manage classroom behavior and creating a positive learning atmosphere
  • Collaborating with teachers and the SEN team to develop effective strategies
  • Monitoring and recording students’ progress and providing feedback

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or care setting
  • Understanding of autism and strategies to support individuals with autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of different students
