Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Haslingden (BB4)

Pay: £12.82- 15

Working hours: 8:30-15:30

The Headteacher and Governing Body of a small school in Haslingden are on the lookout for a strong Teaching Assistant to provide learning and behaviour support on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in KS2. This role will be to start as soon as possible (following April 15th 2024) until the end of the academic year. The working hours for this role at 8:30-15:30, full-time (Monday-Friday) term time only.

The school have received funding to provide 1:1 support to an individual in KS2. This child has Autism and requires additional support particularly during English lessons where they are less engaged. They require a well-humoured TA who can confidently differentiate activities to meet their interests and maximise attainment. This child is very bright and is very interested in Maths. Generally, the child displays excellent behaviour, and responds well to a strict routine.

Responsibilities: As a 1:1 Support Specialist, you will:

  • Build a strong rapport with the pupil and create a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to help the student manage their SEMH needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning strategies.
  • Assist with academic tasks, ensuring the student's educational goals are met.
  • Support with personal care,

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Level 2 qualification or above.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
