 Job:  Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA)  in a Post-16 College (Contract)

The position: 5 day a week long term position

Daily Rate:  £85 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Dedicated and experienced Behaviour Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is required for a Post-16 College located in the London Borough of Greenwich.  This position would start in September 2024.

The successful Behaviour LSA will provide tailored support to students with autism, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and behaviour difficulties. The role involves working both 1:1 and with small groups to facilitate an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism, SEMH, ADHD, and behaviour difficulties.
  • You have an Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one ASAP
  • You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Facilitate students' academic, social, and emotional development through tailored interventions and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure the needs of students are met effectively.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to relevant staff and parents/carers.
  • Implement strategies to promote independence and resilience in students.
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated learning activities, ensuring accessibility for all students.
  • Support students during transitions, such as moving between lessons or preparing for post-college opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
  • Proven experience working with students with autism, SEMH, ADHD, and behaviour difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with these needs and effective strategies to support them.
  • Experience in providing both 1:1 and small group support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or a related field are desirable.
