Daily Rate: £83.85 a day

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel are currently searching for a behaviour mentor to work in a primary school based in the heart of Barry. We need a confident, friendly individual who can work well as part of a team and individually. You will be supporting pupils who have social, emotional and behaviour related needs and as such you will need to be resilient and show empathy.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll support students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. You'll work with teachers, parents, and staff to develop strategies that promote positive behaviour and enhance learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students.
  • Develop and implement behaviour plans.
  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Collaborate with staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Liaise with external agencies as needed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help young people.
  • Strong organisational skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields.
  • Experience of de-escalation and behaviour mentoring
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies.
