Job Opportunity: Behaviour Mentor

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Bramhall. This full-time position starts in September and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students to overcome behavioral challenges and achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Student Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors, helping them to develop positive behaviors and attitudes.
  2. Behavior Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies in line with the school's policies, working closely with teachers and senior staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
  3. Mentoring and Guidance: Act as a mentor and positive role model for students, offering guidance, support, and encouragement to help them succeed both academically and socially.
  4. Intervention Programs: Develop and deliver targeted intervention programs to address specific behavioral issues, tailored to the needs of individual students or groups.
  5. Monitoring and Reporting: Track and monitor students' progress, maintaining detailed records of their behavior and reporting regularly to teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents.
  6. Collaborative Working: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies for managing student behavior.
  7. Conflict Resolution: Assist in resolving conflicts and issues among students, promoting a harmonious and respectful school environment.
  8. Parent Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and involving them in strategies to support positive behavior.
  9. Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in behavior management.
  10. School Policies: Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, promoting the school's ethos and values at all times.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them to overcome behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic school environment.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting, particularly those with behavioral challenges, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behavior management or a related field would be an advantage.
