Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an KS1 – KS4 Alternative Provision situated in the Leyland area in order to help the school find quality Behaviour Mentors to add to their growing team. The school allows children who have previously had a negative experience within the school system to have a second chance at education in a provision which is more suited to their needs.

Many children who attend this school have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties and many struggle to regulate their behaviour. Many children have previously been persistently absent from school meaning they may have large gaps in their learning and therefore, they may not perform to their age-related expectations.

As a Behaviour Mentor, your duties will include:

-          Supporting pupils throughout the school day.

-          Potentially work with students on a 1:1 basis or within small, focused groups.

-          Encourage pupils to engage with their education and extra-curricular activities and school trips.

-          De-escalate potentially challenging situations.

-          Praise good behaviour.

-          Be a positive role model and build positive and professional relationships with students.

-          Encourage reciprocation of respect.

This is a full-time position starting ASAP!

The school would be interested in a candidate who has previous experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours. They would also consider applications from Sports Coaches, Carers, Residential support workers, Youth Workers and those with the experience within the Prison system or the Military.

If you are interested in this position, please send your up to date CV to Emily!
