As a Behavior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Position: Learning Support Assistant - Behavior Specialist 

  • Work closely with students displaying challenging behavior to foster a positive learning atmosphere and enhance their overall educational experience.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on behavior management, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement tailored strategies and support plans for students with behavioral needs.
  • Observe and assess students' progress, tracking behavioral improvements, and providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Be flexible and available on-call to assist in managing behavioral incidents that may arise throughout the school day.
  • Demonstrate a caring and empathetic approach, helping students build self-confidence and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding for all students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with challenging behavior or special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • An understanding of behavioral management strategies and the ability to apply appropriate techniques in a school setting.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' educational and emotional development.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special needs support would be advantageous.
