Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Behaviour Support)
Location: Caerphilly
Hours: Monday to Friday (08:30 – 15:30)
Pay: £83.34 per day

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking behaviour support assistants to work in primary schools across Caerphilly. The role will entail working with various pupils across the primary phase who may need 1:1 or group support throughout the school day. The children that you will be supporting will be those who may have difficulties within the mainstream class.

The idea behind this role is to maintain and improve behaviour difficulties that the children may present. The school are looking for someone who has a flexible approach and can lead the children in smaller groups whereby you run activities such as sports, art & crafts, IT, or drama etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils either on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Provide support to these pupils to help improve their social and emotional skills.
  • Lead group activities such as sports, arts & crafts, IT and drama
  • Liaise with the class teachers to report on any behavioural issues throughout the group sessions
  • Use the group sessions to enable the children to talk about their feelings and how they can use different methods when showing signs of frustration
  • Have a flexible approach to working 1:1 or within small groups
  • Be confident in supporting children from the ages of 4 to 11 years old
  • Support and enhance school behaviour policies
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered too

Essential Requirements:

  • Child only DBS Certificate that is registered on the Update Service
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council
  • 2 Professional Based references
  • Level 2 Safeguarding Certificate (free via Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
