As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the emotional and behavioural needs of children within an educational setting. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies
  • Providing one-to-one support to pupils with challenging behaviours
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans
  • Supporting children in developing social skills and coping mechanisms
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience working with children or young adults with behavioural difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate challenging situations

A degree or diploma in Education, Psychology, or a related field is required for this role.

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Any additional training or certifications in behaviour management or special education would be advantageous.

This role involves working in a school environment with children and young adults. The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
