About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work as a Primary School in Fleetwood, Lancashire (FY7). This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with behavioural challenges, helping them to achieve their full potential.

The role is to work in a KS2 class with a child who needs 1:1 support on a full time basis. The successful Teaching Asisstant will work closely with the class teacher and schools SENCo to manage and ammned the childs learning plans. Experience working in a primary setting would be beneficial but isn't essential. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers to support children with behavioural needs.
  • Develop and implement individual behaviour management plans.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' development.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging them to engage and succeed in their education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
