  • Classroom Assistance: Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. Your role will involve monitoring students, intervening when necessary, and helping to maintain classroom order.

  • Behavioural Interventions: Implement and monitor behavioural intervention plans, working closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and pastoral team. Your input will be vital in creating tailored strategies that meet the individual needs of each student.

  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support to students who may be struggling with personal or social issues. You will be a trusted point of contact, offering guidance and helping students to navigate their challenges.

  • Parental Communication: Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed of their child's progress and any behavioural concerns. You will work to build strong relationships with families, ensuring they are involved in the support process.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of student behaviour, interventions, and progress. Regularly update teaching staff and senior leadership on the effectiveness of behavioural strategies, and contribute to ongoing assessments.

  • Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and safety of all students. You will be vigilant in identifying and reporting any concerns, playing a key role in the school's safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in working with young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a proactive approach to managing behaviour.
  • Experience working in a school setting or with young people is desirable but not essential.
