About the School:

They are a inclusive primary school located in the heart of the M40 area. Their staff team are committed to creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. They are currently looking for a passionate and Behaviour Support Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team.

About the role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional help to manage their behaviour and emotions. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, you will implement behaviour management strategies, provide one-to-one or small group support, and contribute to creating a positive learning atmosphere for all pupils.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Students: Provide targeted support to pupils with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively in their learning.
  • Interventions: Develop and implement individual behaviour plans and interventions in collaboration with the SENCO and class teachers.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor pupil progress, maintain detailed records, and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
  • Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural needs, in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
