Teaching Personnel are working closely with a primary school who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team.

Role Summary:
The Behaviour Support Assistant will work closely with students, teachers, and support staff to address and manage behavioural issues, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. This role is essential in supporting students who may face emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties, guiding them towards positive behaviour patterns and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behaviour-related challenges, helping them develop self-regulation, resilience, and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers to implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students
  • Provide one-on-one and group support for students, helping to maintain a calm and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and other support strategies
  • Encourage positive behaviour and celebrate achievements to boost students' self-esteem and motivation
  • Liaise with parents, caregivers, and other staff members to keep all parties informed of students' progress
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of behaviour-related incidents and interventions
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development to stay informed about best practices in behaviour support

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young adults, particularly in a support or educational role
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed and a commitment to inclusive education
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or child development are a plus
