Position: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant.
Location: Preston, PR2.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
Contract Type: Full-time temporary.

As a SEMH Secondary Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may have challeneing behaviour and face difficulties learning. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of Behaviour Support Plans and EHC Plans.
  • Providing targeted one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Assisting in the creation and adaptation of behaviour management strategies and resources.
  • Helping students develop social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Supporting classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Encouraging an inclusive and supportive school culture.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community.
  • Experience working with secondary school students with special educational needs and behavioural challenges is desirable.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential.
