Behaviour Support Worker

Pay: £12.91 - £13.20 per hour

Start Date: September 2024

Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 15:30)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit two individuals to work with a Pupil Referral Unit in Neyland. 

The site houses over 40 children who have been excluded from mainstream education due to statements typically referring to social, emotional, and mental health conditions.

  • Provide support to students in managing their behaviour in educational settings
  • Numerous trips out to the sea, and other recreational activities in within the local community
  • Implement behavioural management strategies to support students with mental health issues, anxiety, and trauma
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students, incorporating trauma-informed practises
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to address behavioural concerns and develop individualised support plans
  • Participate in safeguarding procedures to protect the well-being of students

Ideal Experiences:

  • Strong understanding of behavioural management techniques
  • Familiarity with mental health issues, anxiety, and trauma
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practises
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, teachers, and other professionals
