Behaviour Support Worker

Teaching Personnel in partnership with a specialist provision in the PR5 area are looking to hire multiple SEMH behaviour support workers to provide a high level of support to their pupils, due to the nature of the school and the needs its pupils have, it is essential that you have prior experience supporting young people or adults, this does not have to be in an educational setting.

The role

As a teaching assistant in a specialist provision, you will need to have prior experience supporting young people or adults. You will need to differentiate your support to meet the needs of your pupils, both educationally and holistically. Although your role is to support the learning of your pupils, the other aspect of your role will be to promote the development of their overall development and other additional needs that are not education related.

The school

This is a specialist provision; it caters for pupils aged 5-18 years who require additional support in their educational and overall development. The provision aims to equip its pupils with essential life skills whilst supporting them to further develop their education and achieve their full potential.  Class sizes are small around 6-10 pupils per class. All pupils are offered intervention support groups both for their holistic and educational development, these interventions aim to provide the pupils with further 1:1 support in a specific area that they may need to develop or additional support in. The intervention sessions are both to support the behavioural, personal, educational, and physical needs of all pupils. All pupils at this provision have either and EHC or IEP plan that needs to be followed to ensure each of their needs are being met by yourself and all support staff, the plans need to be followed by all and implemented through your planning and teaching.
