Role and Responsibilities: As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviour and SEMH issues. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them manage their behaviour and emotions.
  • Implementing tailored support plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and structured learning environment.
  • Using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Encouraging and guiding students to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Building strong, empathetic relationships with students to understand their unique challenges and strengths.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven experience working with students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • A genuine interest in the education sector and a passion for supporting vulnerable students.
  • Exceptional empathy and resilience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations effectively.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
