A highly reputable Multi Academy Trust is seeking a passionate and skilled Careers Advisor (CIAG) to join their school in Brighton. This is a permanent position, with a start date of January 2025 or sooner for the right candidate.

Role Overview:

The Careers Advisor will play a key role in delivering outstanding careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CIAG) across the school. You will be responsible for supporting students in making informed decisions about their education, training, and career paths. Working closely with staff, employers, and external partners, the Careers Advisor will design and implement a comprehensive careers programme, aligned with Gatsby Benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 career guidance interviews and group sessions to students across all key stages.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a high-quality CIAG programme tailored to individual student needs.
  • Offer advice on post-16 and post-18 education, training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers, universities, and external agencies to provide students with access to a range of opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of work experience programmes and career-related events.
  • Track and monitor students' career aspirations and destinations, providing ongoing guidance.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leadership to integrate careers education into the broader curriculum.
  • Ensure all CIAG provision aligns with the Gatsby Benchmarks and national guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to Level 6 or above in Careers Guidance (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in delivering careers education, advice, and guidance in a school or education setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage young people.
  • Strong knowledge of the education, apprenticeship, and employment sectors.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date understanding of Gatsby Benchmarks and relevant statutory guidance.
  • Organisational skills to manage a varied workload and deliver impactful CIAG programmes.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of careers education.
