A rapidly improving secondary school in Reading, Berkshire is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Careers and Work Experience Coordinator to join their permanent staff. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s commitment to preparing students for their future careers and providing valuable work experience opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
*
Develop and deliver a robust careers education program in line with the school’s objectives.
*
Coordinate work experience placements for students, ensuring they are meaningful and aligned with their career aspirations.
*
Provide one-on-one career advice and guidance to students, helping them understand their options and make informed decisions.
*
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and industry professionals to secure work experience placements and other career-related opportunities.
*
Organise career fairs, guest speaker events, and workshops to enhance students’ understanding of different career paths.
*
Keep up to date with labour market information, career trends, and post-secondary education options.
*
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external stakeholders to support students’ career development.

Requirements
*Education: A degree in education, career guidance, or a related field.
*Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is highly desirable.

Skills:
*Strong organizational and administrative skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
*Knowledge of the current labour market and career guidance practices.
*Proficiency in using career guidance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
