A highly reputable and growing network of primary, secondary, and special schools is seeking a dedicated and professional Clerk to join their Local Governance Committee. Their schools are committed to providing exceptional education and support to their diverse student body. They are looking for a meticulous and organised individual to support our governance team in ensuring effective and compliant operations.

The Clerk to the Local Governance Committee will play a crucial role in supporting the governance framework of our schools. This position involves preparing agendas, taking minutes, providing administrative support, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of governance processes within the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and documentation for governance meetings.
*
Attend all Local Governance Committee meetings and accurately record minutes.
*
Provide administrative support to the Chair and committee members.
*
Ensure that the Local Governance Committee operates in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
*
Maintain up-to-date records of committee membership, meeting schedules, and relevant documentation.
*
Advise the committee on governance best practices and procedural matters.
*
Liaise with school leaders, committee members, and external stakeholders as necessary.
*
Support the induction and training of new committee members.

Requirements:
*Proven experience as a Clerk or in a similar administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
*Strong understanding of governance procedures and statutory requirements.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
*Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
*Willingness to undertake training and development as needed.
*Flexibility to attend meetings outside of regular working hours.

Qualifications:
*A relevant qualification in administration, governance, or a related field is desirable.
*Knowledge of educational governance frameworks and practices is advantageous.
