Secondary Chemistry Teacher

Teaching Personnel is actively recruiting for a fully qualified Chemistry/Science teacher for a long-term position available in one of our partnership schools in the Treorchy area. This is a temporary to permanent role within the school starting in September which means that you will have an initial period of 16 working weeks before going onto a permanent salary with the school. Interviews are being held over the next 2 weeks.

Requirements of a Chemistry Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have PGCE or equivalent in Chemistry/Science
  • Enhanced DBS available on the update service
  • Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Two school-based references if applicable

Duties & Responsibilities of a Chemistry Teacher:

  • Pre-plan and prepare work in line with national curriculum
  • Teach Chemistry up to KS5 & A-Level
  • Manage challenging behaviours in lessons
  • Work within part of a team of faculty staff
