Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Treorchy Area

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to take on a role within one of our partnership secondary schools located in the Treorchy area. The position is supporting students in KS3 and KS4 with Complex Needs (such as illness, disability or sensory impairment) in their usual day-to-day routines in education. This role is running on a full-time basis and will continue till the end of the academic year (until July).

Daily Duties of an ALN Teaching Assistant

  • Accompany students from lesson to lesson and within the complex needs base
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Reading out tasks to students
  • Management of challenging behaviours
  • Monitor students progress and ensure they are maintaining their education

Requirements of an ALN Teaching Assistant

  • Passion for education
  • Patient and caring nature
  • Enhanced DBS available on the update service
  • Registered with the EWC
  • Professional or personal experience around Additional Learning Needs
