The role of the successful Computer Science Teacher will involve:

  • Planning and preparing lessons and courses, assigning and grading work, reporting on student growth, progress, and achievement.
  • Preparing students for exams, testing students in preparation for exams, documenting and reporting such evaluations, and attending meetings related to the administration of exams.
  • Submitting reports, attending parents' evenings and interacting and consulting with parents and carers of students.
  • Maintaining good order and discipline among the pupils you are teaching.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and taking responsibility for noting points of action and forwarding copies to Headteacher and Department Heads.
  • Working as a team member to define departmental policy and practice, implementing curricular initiatives, and preparing and constructing schemes of work, units of study, teaching methods, and assessment techniques.
  • Contributing to the provision of resources and teaching materials and taking some responsibility for care of stock.
  • Participating in appropriate administrative and organisational tasks in order to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
