Cover Supervisor – Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

We are actively recruiting a Cover Supervisor to cover the area of Barry, supporting local secondary schools and provisions. Cover Supervisors are responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons and overseeing classrooms in the absence of a teacher, with no previous teaching experience/qualifications required!

 

Cover Supervisors step in when the main teacher is ill or absent. The lesson is pre-prepared for you; your role is to supervise the class, manage their behaviour and ensure that they complete work set by the teacher. You will supervise a range of subjects and year groups so the ability to be flexible and think on your feet it key in this role.

 

The role is based in the Barry area, Vale of Glamorgan. You will be supporting several closely placed Secondary Schools in the area, working with pupils aged 11-18. The schools are easily accessible by road and all within a 15-minute drive of each other.

 

This would be the ideal role for:

  •  Anyone with coaching or tutoring experience
  • Anyone considering doing a PGCE in the future.
  • A confident TA who is happy to manage behaviour within a classroom.
  • Graduates looking for a new challenge.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree education or equivalent qualification
  • Enhanced DBS check and registration with the EWC, support will be provided with this.
  • Two graded references
  • Right to work in the UK
