About the Role:

The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students’ learning by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. This position is starting in September 2024.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Supervision: Supervise students in a classroom setting, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students stay on task with their work.
  • Behaviour Management: Maintain good behaviour and discipline within the classroom.
  • Support for Students: Provide support and guidance to students as they complete their work.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative tasks related to classroom management as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff and other cover supervisors to ensure continuity in students' learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: A background in education or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with secondary school students is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Education: Demonstrate a passion for supporting students in their learning journey.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
