Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Cover Teaching Assistant team, ensuring that high-quality lessons are delivered during teacher absences.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Student Services Manager to ensure fair and balanced allocation of cover lessons across the team.
  • Step into classrooms to deliver lessons in the absence of the regular subject teacher, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
  • Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of curriculum content, gaining hands-on experience in lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Provide administrative support across various subjects, contributing to the smooth operation of classroom activities.
  • Act as a tutor, playing an active role in supporting students' personal development and contributing to the school’s House ethos.

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate, ideally with a degree in a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and an interest in pursuing a career in teaching.
  • A positive attitude, with the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced school environment.
  • A valid DBS check, or willingness to undergo one.
