A highly-regarded secondary school in Swindon, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their permanent staff from January 2025. The school prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
  • Ensuring that the students complete the work set by the teacher.
  • Managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Providing support and guidance to students to aid their learning.
  • Liaising with teaching staff and ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Undertaking administrative tasks related to cover supervision.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • A commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field is desirable but not essential.
