We are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team in Poynton, Cheshire. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their regular teachers. Your main role will be to ensure that the pre-prepared work is completed and that students behave in a respectful manner.

  • Supervising students in the classroom during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring students stay on task
  • Maintaining classroom discipline and managing student behaviour
  • Assisting with any queries students may have regarding their work
  • Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of each session
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching styles
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in behaviour management
  • Part-time hours, typically during school hours
  • Work closely with teaching staff and students
  • Possibility of dealing with challenging behaviour from students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
