We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Waterlooville on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring that students remain engaged with their learning. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and are looking to gain experience in an educational setting, with the potential to progress into a teaching role in the future.

  • Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task with their work.
  • Implement the lesson plan provided, delivering the material in a way that keeps students engaged and productive.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Provide support to students with their learning, answering any questions they may have about the lesson content.
  • Report back to the regular teacher on student progress and any issues that arise during the lesson.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning materials as required.
  • Uphold the school's values, policies, and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a productive learning environment.
  • Ability to deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in various classroom settings and with different age groups.
