If you’re passionate about supporting students, adaptable, and eager to gain valuable experience in a variety of educational settings, this opportunity could be perfect for you!

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to ensure a seamless learning experience when teachers are absent. This is a flexible, ad hoc role that suits individuals looking to make a difference without the commitment of full-time teaching.

  • Support Learning: Assisting students where necessary with their learning and maintaining an orderly learning environment.
  • Behaviour Monitoring: Managing student behaviour in line with school policies and promoting a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Administrative Support: Handling routine classroom tasks, such as collecting work, providing feedback to teachers, and relaying any issues or concerns.
  • Building Relationships: Establishing a rapport with students and staff, gaining familiarity with school policies and procedures, and contributing to the school’s educational ethos.
  • Flexibility: Be available for ad hoc cover opportunities in a variety of schools in the Fareham area.
  • Reliability: A professional, punctual, and committed approach to each day’s assignments.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work across different year groups and subject areas, adapting to the needs of each school.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with students, staff, and other members of the school community.
  • Experience/Qualifications: While prior experience in a school environment is beneficial, it is not essential. A positive attitude, strong classroom management skills, and a genuine interest in supporting students’ education are most important.
  • Flexible Working: Tailor your work schedule to suit your availability.
  • Professional Development: Access to free or discounted CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses to enhance your skills and career opportunities.
  • Dedicated Consultant: A personal consultant to assist with your work placements and career growth.
