The Cover Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of educational activities within the school setting. The main responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and managing classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Implementing pre-prepared work set by the absent teacher
  • Maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Managing student behaviour effectively
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young adults
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Prior experience working with children or young adults is desirable

  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Further qualifications in education or childcare
  • First Aid certification

The role of a Cover Supervisor involves working within a school environment, following school hours and term dates. The position may require occasional flexibility in hours and responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
