Cover Supervisor - Full-Time Role in Denton

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Denton. This full-time position starts in December and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The role offers a weekly pay of £419.25 - £500, depending on experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classroom activities and ensuring students remain focused and engaged during the absence of regular teaching staff. You will be supervising lessons across a variety of subjects, maintaining order, and delivering pre-prepared lessons in line with the school's expectations.   • Supervising and managing students in the classroom during teacher absences, ensuring a positive learning environment is maintained.
  • Delivering lesson plans that have been set by the absent teacher, ensuring all students stay on task and work towards lesson objectives.
  • Supporting students with their learning and responding to any questions or issues they may have with the work provided.
  • Managing the classroom, including handling any behavioural issues in accordance with the school's behaviour policy, and promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Working closely with the school's teaching staff and pastoral team to ensure students receive the support they need during lessons.
  • Reporting any incidents or issues that occur during your supervision to relevant staff members, including completing any required documentation.
  • Ensuring that all students complete the assigned work and that any completed work is collected and handed back to the appropriate teacher.
  • Covering a range of subjects across the school curriculum, which may vary on a day-to-day basis depending on staffing needs.
  • Engaging with students, encouraging participation, and helping to maintain a calm and focused environment for learning.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of various ages and abilities.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting, such as a teaching assistant, youth worker, or similar.
  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a productive and orderly learning environment.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to covering different subjects and classes as required.
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and academic progress of students, supporting them in achieving their best.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to the wider school team.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in education or gaining experience before entering a teaching qualification.
