Position: Cover Teacher
Location: Burnley Secondary schools 
Hours: Sporadic availability, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Cover Teacher to join Teaching Personnel to provide cover in a range of Specialist provisions, providing high-quality teaching to secondary-aged pupils in alternative provisions. The students have SEMH needs, and we are looking for someone who can create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering both academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH.
  • Establishing strong relationships with students to build trust and encourage positive behavior and engagement.
  • Implementing tailored strategies to support the individual needs of pupils, promoting resilience, self-esteem, and academic achievement.
  • Collaborating with support staff and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to education and well-being.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience in teaching.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or in alternative provisions is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with young people.
  • Flexibility and reliability to work on a sporadic basis as needed.
