Are you a qualified secondary school teacher looking for more flexibility to accommodate your other commitments?

Teaching Personnel are looking to hire a Secondary School Teacher to work in Wakefield with students with SEND. 

About The Role:

This role is ideal for qualified SEN/SEND teachers who are passionate about providing a great education to children and young people with diverse learning needs. You'll have the opportunity to work in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed way, helping to boost their engagement and significantly enhance their educational experience.

This role would be Monday to Friday, term time only. Both part time and full-time applicants are welcome to apply. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding this.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.

Our schools are dedicated to transforming the quality of education for young people with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), as well as those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. About you: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with a PGCE (preferred)
  • Be a flexible and confident educator with a creative approach to teaching.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and reliability in your teaching practice.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Trauma.
