An Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Romford, Essex, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and motivate students while delivering high-quality teaching in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential involvement in Key Stage 5.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the curriculum, sharing best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs and trips, to enrich the students' learning experience.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom, adhering to health and safety regulations and school policies.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary school level, preferably with experience in both Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Design and Technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
