Teaching Personnel is working closely with a reputable independent secondary school in Fareham that is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their team full-time.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a creative and innovative educator with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to inspire and develop students' skills in a range of design disciplines, including Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, and Textiles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across the Design and Technology curriculum, focusing on developing practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported.
  • Encourage students to think critically and creatively, developing their skills in areas such as materials, design processes, and technical drawing.
  • Provide constructive feedback and regular assessments to track student progress and ensure achievement against set targets.
  • Prepare students for practical and written exams, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared to achieve their potential.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed during practical lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and develop schemes of work, ensuring consistency and excellence across the department.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, workshops, and events related to Design and Technology.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the Design and Technology national curriculum and GCSE assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage students and maintain a focused and productive learning environment.
  • A passion for the subject, with the ability to inspire students and foster creativity and technical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
