Design and Technology Teacher

Position: Full-time, long term

Pay: To scale on all full time, fully qualified teacher positions

The team at Teaching Personnel are seeking a qualified and dedicated DT teacher who is confident in teaching across multiple disciplines within the subject, in particular, food technology. You will be working in a supportive school who we work very closely with and will be supported by your own personal recruitment consultant.

 

If you can think on your feet, engage pupils in their learning and show a dedicated and conscious approach to safeguarding, then this role may be for you!

 

Job Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Design and Technology or a specialism within that subject (i.e. food technology, textiles, product design)
  • Experience teaching DT within a UK secondary school environment
  • Confident with behaviour management and strong classroom presence
  • Excellent subject knowledge and knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching children with SEN is ideal

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver DT lessons to a range of year groups and abilities and ensuring that you differentiate lessons to suit the individual needs within the class
  • Teach practical and theoretical DT lessons to all learners within the school
  • Regularly assess pupil progress and ensure you provide them with timely and informative feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the DT department to enhance the department and ensure it is a top performer within the school
  • Contribute to the wider school community through engagement with extra curricular activities i.e. parents evening
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment in line with the schools policies
  • Adhere to schools policies and procedures at all times, ensuring safeguarding is at the pinnacle of your practices
