  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of design technology lessons, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available and maintained.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in design technology classes, ensuring all are safe and in good working order.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed in the workshop, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
  • Resource Management: Manage and organise resources and materials, keeping inventory and ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Student Assistance: Provide support to students during practical lessons, offering guidance and ensuring they use equipment safely and effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on new technologies and techniques in design technology, providing training and support to staff and students as needed.
  • Essential:

    • Relevant qualifications or experience in design technology or a related field.
    • Strong technical skills and knowledge of design technology equipment and materials.
    • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to school workshops.
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience working in a school environment.
    • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
    • First aid training.
