Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the Design Technology department, including maintaining and preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist students with practical lessons, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
  • Set up machinery, assist in project development, and maintain workshop areas.
  • Offer guidance on the use of CAD/CAM software, 3D printers, laser cutters, and other modern design technologies.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and materials, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with design technology equipment, including hand tools, machinery, and software.
  • A good understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them succeed.
  • Previous experience in an educational or technical support role is desirable but not essential.
